It's not commonly known, but Minolta did offer interchangeable screens for the XE series of cameras. The screens were not user interchangeable like some later models, and accordingly require a service technician to install them.

The standard screen in the XE series was a PM screen - a horizontal split image bi-prism surrounded by a microprism ring), but Minolta also offered a full matte screen for users who prefered to focus without a central focusing aid.

The XD Series had a range of interchangeable screens, albeit not quite as extensive as those available for the Professional XK Series cameras, or the later X-Series. Minolta no longer stocks these screens so they are difficult to find now.

The X-700 and X-500/570 had a range of interchangeable screens available to meet the needs of every photographer. While not as easy to change as screens for the XK model, they were nonetheless a great feature of the models.
